Each user's information is stored in a particular database within Plaxo's service. Although it's a very rare occurrence, there are situations (system upgrade, schema update, etc) when a database is taken offline. When a database does go offline, our highest priority is to make sure it's service is restored as quickly as possible.
If the particular database where your account is stored is offline, here are the problems you will encounter:
- You will not be able to access your online account.
- Reinstalling the Plaxo Toolbar will fail because the toolbar registration phase won't be able to connect to the database.
- Sending eCards will not work since you will not be able to login.
- Synchronization updates will be queued.
Will I lose my data?
No, all Plaxo databases are redundant with both online and offline backups.
Will I lose any updates?
No, all databases use transactional operations to ensure that no data is lost. Pending updates are queued until the database is back online.
